Mechanical Testing
Tensile test is used to determine a metal ultimate tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and reduction area. A tensile test is performed by pulling a test specimen to failure with increasing load.
Bending test is used to evaluate the relative ductility and soundness of welded joint or soundness of weld test specimen.
Impact test is used to measure toughness ability of metal to absorb energy and deform plastically before fracturing . It is usually measured by energy absorbed in a notch impact test.
